The Career Girl Goes Bust - For A Little While

New generation of career girls

Being a career girl has always been my thing. I've worked since I was 15. It was my identity. It was shaped by the career girl movies of the 80's like "Working Girl" and a stay at home mom who wanted me to always be able to support myself. And when we decided to have a family I don't even think I was ready for that identity to change. Especially when I was offered my dream job, the one I worked my entire life for but when it came down to it, wasn't my dream anymore.  My identity changed. It didn't slip away - it morphed into something completely different.

So for now I'm going to use that phrase that doesn't do it justice: I'm a stay at home mom. I'm not bored or unfulfilled.  I'm excited for this new phase in my life. I'm excited to support other working girls, working moms or stay at home mom's with great and easy recipes, crafts, projects, etc that I may come across. I'm always a lover of all things domestic. And I'm going to raise a new generation of working girl's to fulfill their potential as my stay at home mom did. It's not a new job per se. I see it as a calling. And it's time for me to fulfill it. Funny how everything comes full circle.

Anniversary Memories

It's hard to believe that 9 years ago today was filled with all the frenzied pace and things to do that happens with all weddings.

One thing has always stood out to me and that was the words from a particular groomsmen who said, "it's you two against the world, stick together." We did and now we have someone to share our family with.
